Nested Travel ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Nested Travel mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our app. By using Nested Travel, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
When you create an account, we collect your first name, last name, email address, and password. Your password is securely hashed and never stored in plaintext by our systems.
We collect information about trips you create, places you save, search queries (destinations, dates, number of travelers), wellness preferences, and budget selections. This data is used to provide personalized recommendations and itineraries.
After a trip you may choose to record a reflection — a short written note about how the trip felt and what you would repeat. Reflections are optional, are visible only to you, and are stored against your account. We use them to improve the recommendations we show you. We do not publish them, share them with other users, or send them to advertisers.
If you opt in, we save a wellness focus (for example “stress relief” or “fitness”) together with a small number of descriptive tags inferred from the places you added to a trip. This is a statement of travel preference, not a medical or health record: we do not ask for, collect, or store health conditions, diagnoses, treatments, biometric measurements, or fitness-tracker data. You can change or clear your wellness focus at any time from your profile, which deletes the stored value.
If you submit a review of a place, the review text, any rating or wellness tags you select, and the display name on your account are stored and shown publicly inside the app alongside that place. Reviews are visible to anyone using the app, including people who are not signed in. Do not include anything in a review that you would not want to be public. You can request removal of a review you wrote by contacting us.
We collect analytics data including screen views, search activity, trip creation and management actions, subscription changes, and session information (duration, platform, app version). This data is stored in our own database and is used to improve the app experience.
This website (nestedtravel.com) measures basic, anonymous usage so we can understand how many people visit and whether the pages are working: the page you viewed, the site that referred you, how far down a page you scrolled, and whether you tapped an App Store or Google Play link. We do not set advertising cookies, we do not use your IP address to determine your location, and we do not build an advertising profile of you. These measurements are not linked to your app account. A single identifier is stored in your browser's local storage so repeat visits are not counted as separate people; clearing your browser storage removes it.
Subscription payments are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not collect or store your payment card information. If you tap a booking link, any payment is made on the third-party booking site under that site's own terms — we are not the merchant, and your card details never pass through us.
We collect your device platform (iOS or Android), app version, and basic session data. If you enable biometric login (Face ID or Touch ID), your login credentials are stored securely on your device using your operating system's encrypted secure storage.
The app uses location services to convert destination names you type into geographic coordinates for searching hotels, restaurants, and activities nearby. We do not track your real-time physical location or collect GPS data in the background.
We use your information to provide and operate the app's core features (trip planning, place search, recommendations), generate personalized wellness recommendations based on your saved places and trip history, create AI-powered travel itineraries using your destination, dates, and preferences, process hotel bookings through our booking partners, send you local notifications (trip and activity reminders, and a monthly reminder when a free AI trip allowance resets) if you opt in, monitor app performance, diagnose errors, and improve reliability, and manage your account and subscription.
We do not sell your personal data. We share information with the following third-party service providers only as necessary to operate the app:

Your account data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase. Trip data and preferences are also cached locally on your device for offline access. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, and secure token-based authentication to protect your data.
You have the right to access your personal data by viewing your profile and trip information in the app, update your name and profile information through the Edit Profile screen, delete your account and associated data through the Delete Account screen or by contacting us at privacy@nestedtravel.com, and opt out of push notifications through your device's notification settings.
You can also remove specific categories of data without deleting your account: clear your wellness focus from your profile, edit or delete a trip reflection from the trip it belongs to, and request removal of a place review you wrote by contacting us at privacy@nestedtravel.com. If you delete your account and want your reflections, saved places, and wellness focus removed at the same time, say so in your request and we will remove them.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Locally cached data on your device can be cleared by uninstalling the app.
Nested Travel is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy in the app with a new "Last Updated" date.
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States.
